The study examined organizational commitment and emotional intelligence as predictors of job performance of civil servants in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria. Two hundred and fifty-five (255) participants (134 males and 121 females) made up the sample of the study. They were selected from the Akwa Ibom State Ministries of Agriculture, Health and Education, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo, through convenience sampling technique. The ages of the participants ranged from 22-54 years and their mean age was 37.67 years, with SD of 12.38 The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design using a questionnaire to generate data. Instruments used in the study were: Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Meyer and Allen (1991), Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Wong and Law (2002), and Job Performance Scale developed by Goodman and Salovey (2019). Data generated were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results showed that even as expected, organizational commitment had significant positive relationship with job performance (ß=.83; t = 43.51; P <. 05). Also, emotional intelligence had a significant positive relationship with job performance of civil servants (ß = .894; t = 37.29; P <. 05). The result equally showed that organizational commitment and emotional intelligence had a significant joint relationship with job performance of civil servants in Uyo. One implication of this study is that, organizational managers have to know and manage the emotional intelligence of their employees as this will aid employees job performance.
